Job Description
This job requires commute or relocation to Custer SD
Custer County is accepting applications for a FullTime County Custodial/Building Maintenance and Sprayer Position.
This fulltime position is shared between the Custer County Building Maintenance Department 60 workload) and the and Pest Department 40 workload). The position offers a variety of indoor and outdoor duties including general maintenance and janitorial functions on County properties grounds keeping snow removal and seasonal spraying along Countymaintained roads.
The starting wage is $18.94 per hour with full county benefits.
The ideal candidate will be selfmotivated able to work independently and as part of a team and maintain a good working relationship with County officials employees and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of maintenance and/or janitorial experience or equivalent.
Valid drivers license.
Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as skid loaders ATVs/UTVs snow blowers and lawnmowers.
Ability to pass a security background check and comply with County drug policies.
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
Must possess or be able to obtain a South Dakota Commercial Pesticide Applicators License (Categories G 7 and 1 within 7 working days if hired during spraying season or within 30 days upon employment.
Work Schedule:
Yearround fulltime employment.
Seasonal spraying work occurs approximately MaySeptember.
Occasional work during weekends or holidays may be required especially for snow removal or weatherrelated duties.
