About FerPal USA LLC

FerPal is a market leader in water main rehabilitation with over 30 years of experience across North America. We are currently looking for a detailoriented and experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Illinois. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing with a strong focus on Certified Payroll.

Your responsibilities

HR & administrative support

  • Ensure wages/benefits align with Prevailing Wage and contract requirements.

  • Support onboarding/offboarding and diversity tracking.

  • Help maintain Apprenticeship Program compliance.

Payroll processing (USA)

  • Process accurate weekly payroll for U.S. employees.

  • Track time and calculate wages for Prevailing Wage employees.

  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports (LCPTracker eComply).

  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and maintain accurate records.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance assist in audits and manage 401K/vacation pay tracking.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance HR or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing preferably in construction or public sector projects.

  • Strong understanding of Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage regulations.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is required.

Required skills

  • Proficient with payroll software (e.g. ADP Paycom Workday.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical organizational and reconciliation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage confidential data and meet deadlines.
