High school diploma; BA/BS Education (preferred)
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
High school/college participation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Eyehand mindeye coordination physical
dexterity the ability to bend stoop walk talk
and sit. The ability to travel between locations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
College course work in the Prevention and Care of
Athletic Injuries. Knowledge of the sport.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Issues equipment and supervise the students care of it; check in and inventory equipment at the end of the season.
- Supervises physical examinations and be certain that every athlete returns the necessary form signed by the doctor and parent.
- Promotes a style of play consistent with the scope and sequence of the total program.
- Prepares a daily practice schedule and make continued efforts to improve coaching techniques.
- Dresses appropriately for coaching duties at practice and game time.
- Adheres to policies and procedures established by the Sioux Falls School District.
- Administers first aid to an injured player and take appropriate action such as notifying the family doctor the parent athletic director and building principal.
- Communicates between officials and coaches in professional manner.
- Attends rules meetings and is familiar with the rules of the game.
- Attends coaches meeting as deemed necessary by Coordinator of Athletics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
