Job Description
The Assistant AD General Manager (GM) for Womens Basketball oversees daily operations of the Virginia Tech Womens Basketball organization helping to execute program goals while upholding standards for Virginia Tech Womens Basketball and Virginia Tech Athletics. Assist the Head Coach with strategic planning including roster management fundraising resource planning and personnel management. This position reports directly to the Head Coach / Womens Basketball.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree with significant related experience or a masters degree.
Budget oversight experience.
Strategic thinker who can balance shortterm needs with longterm program building.
Strong analytical skills and proven ability to utilize data to drive decision making.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities including ability to manage diverse personalities.
Commitment to inclusion.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with coaches studentathletes third parties and university administrators.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant experience in a NCAA Division I basketball program and/or professional sports industry.
Advanced degree in sports management or related field.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Experience with contract negotiations.
NCAA Division I and/or professional sports roster management skillset.
