You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a Billing & Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team at the central billing office. In this role you will quickly and accurately identify claim denials apply corrections manage resubmissions and initiate secondary/tertiary billing track claim outcomes and exhaust all options to achieve target collections for home health services across multiple payer sources.

Key Responsibilities:
Read and understand explanation of payment and other communication documents received from payers.
Place frequent calls to payers to gather status information on balances or to reprocess incorrect claims.
Research full and partial denial reasons to apply corrective actions and resolve outstanding claim balances.
Utilize available resources to review and resolve unpaid balances on Account Receivable listings as assigned.
Successfully navigate portals and systems to file timely and accurate reconsiderations and firstlevel appeals.
Complete monthly Medicaid eligibility checks and apply necessary holds and discharges.
Provide notification to client families physicians and therapists regarding eligibility status as needed.
Coordinate with and assist other departments within KidsCare.
Communicate errors and discrepancy patterns to Billing Leadership.
Follow written processes and directions regarding updates and changes received from Billing Leadership.
Provide excellent customer service to all internal team members and external clients via phone email and inperson communications.
Comply with all company policies practices and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One 1 Two 2 years of medical billing experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to learn new concepts and ideas quickly.
Exceptional customer service skills especially in relation to internal team members.
Ability to prioritize work and multitask.
High ethical and moral standards.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period.
Light to moderate physical activity and lifting required.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
Moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers phone and printers light traffic).
