Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the evening/night shift Campus Service Workers the evening/night shift Maintenance department as well as being the primary point of contact for issues that arise on campus during evening hours. This is an evening shift position. Knowledge and Certifications: Valid Drivers License. Supervisory principles practices and techniques. Knowledge of the tools equipment and materials common to general maintenance (electrical plumbing HVAC carpentry) activities. Knowledge of tools equipment and materials common to custodial activities. Duties: Directs the activities of evening/night shift maintenance Campus Service Workers and Quality Inspector of Campus Service Workers. Provide oversight and direction to direct reports and employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures. Maintain employee work schedules including assignments job rotation training vacations and paid time off coverage for absenteeism and overtime scheduling. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings oneonone meetings email and regular interpersonal communications. Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals. Make business decisions that are financially responsible accountable justifiable and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Communicate regularly with other managers supervisors directors etc. as needed to ensure effective twoway communications both within and outside of Facilities & Operations. Responsible for purchases as applicable approving purchases for direct report departments and purchase card reconciliations per operational guidelines.
