Job Title: Setup and Construction Design Assistant
Job Type: Fulltime Remote Offshore
Position Overview:
We are seeking a resourceful and designoriented Setup and Construction Design Assistant to collaborate closely with our Construction and Setup Design teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced solutiondriven environment with a keen eye for design and a background in interior design or procurement. The successful candidate will support the design process by sourcing researching and providing creative design solutions for various construction and setup needs while managing administrative tasks related to procurement and project organization.
In this role you will assist with sourcing replacements for construction materials furniture and finishes from past projects helping find alternative options that align with budget constraints and the original aesthetic vision. A background in interior design and an understanding of the procurement process are essential. The position also requires creativity an analytical mindset and the ability to work with vendors and efficiently manage product sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Construction Replacements:
Locate finishes from past projects and provide them for touchups small renovations or replacements.
Source alternative construction materials and fixture options as needed.
Research and identify similar items or substitutions for outofstock or discontinued items ensuring the original aesthetic is maintained while exploring costeffective alternatives (e.g. finding a similar lamp at a lower price point).
Setup Design Replacements:
Review design tickets photos from marketing or guest areas and provided dimensions to suggest alternatives for damaged or missing selections.
Present three alternative construction and setup options at varying price points for each requirement.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
Work alongside the procurement team to manage the process of placing tracking receiving and returning orders.
Ensure that all selections align with the project s budget and aesthetic vision.
Database & System Management:
Update and maintain the construction and setup selections standards library within Google Sheets and Gather.
Enter finalized selections into the system and assist in creating purchase orders (POs).
Project & Budget Support:
Assist with project organization including updating budgets timelines and project communications.
Help maintain uptodate project specifications and documentation.
Research and Resourcefulness:
Conduct thorough research to find design solutions that meet both aesthetic and cost goals particularly when original items or materials are unavailable.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with Design Managers Associates and the broader team to achieve successful design outcomes.
Provide support on various design projects including residential properties (e.g. singlefamily homes) boutique hotels inns B&Bs and hostels.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Interior Design & Procurement Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in interior design including concept creation sourcing procurement and purchasing.
Familiarity with current interior design trends and a strong understanding of the procurement process is essential. A background in interior design or architecture is highly preferred.
Aesthetic & Design Knowledge:
Strong eye for design with exceptional aesthetic taste able to translate design visions into reality while balancing resourcefulness and costefficiency.
Administrative & Organizational Skills:
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively under pressure.
Proficiency in Google Suite Microsoft Office and project management software.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is required.
ProblemSolving & Critical Thinking:
Proactive in identifying and resolving issues making quick decisions while maintaining design integrity.
Communication Skills:
Fluency in English is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors effectively.
Work Samples/Portfolio:
A portfolio or work samples showcasing previous interior design projects procurement work or other designrelated tasks should be provided with your application.
