Job Description

A respected and established primary school in Oxford is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join their team on a fulltime fixedterm basis. The role is set to begin in September 2025 and while initially for the remainder of the academic year there is potential for the position to become permanent. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.

Position Overview

  • Role: Year 5 Teacher
  • Location: Oxford
  • Contract: FullTime FixedTerm (Until the End of the Academic Year with Possibility of Becoming Permanent)
  • Start Date: September 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver highquality teaching aligned with the national curriculum to ensure Year 5 students meet their academic goals.
  • Plan and implement engaging differentiated lessons that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Provide regular constructive feedback on student progress adapting teaching strategies to individual learning styles.
  • Foster a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation collaboration and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to teaching and learning across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers maintaining regular communication on student progress and wellbeing.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching Year 5 or within Key Stage 2 is preferred but newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both students and staff.
