Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Norwegian department is seeking 12 students to assist with The Crossings and Connections Film festival that will take place on campus on Sunday June 22. The Crossings and Connections Film Festival seeks to foster dialogue and understanding around the global phenomenon of migration. Through powerful storytelling the festival aims to amplify the voices of migrants challenge stereotypes and connect audiences with human stories. This festival is a platform to inspire meaningful conversations. The website with preliminary information is available here: work for this position requires 12 student workers who will coordinate together with the faculty member the digital files the promotion of the festival and screenings of the festival.
This position does not require any Norwegian language knowledge. Students in Film and Media Studies or students with a strong digital media knowledge with good organizing skills are especially encouraged to apply.
Dates and hours:
Work hours are flexible leading up to the festival (between May 1June 17 and will need to meet in person weekly. Ideally this position would begin no later than May 19 for training. There are roughly 30 hours of work connected to the film festival preparation during this time. There is also other prep work for the conference in this same time period if this person is interested in additional hours. The preparation hours could be split between two people or done by one.
This position is required in person all day on Sunday June 22. We will also be hiring workers during the conference Wednesday June 18Saturday June 21 and would gladly have this student also work during this period as well.
