Job Description

Job Summary
This is an entry level parttime and nonbenefited student laborer position for University Surplus and Salvage.

Responsibilities
Assist in the pickup delivery processing shelving and recycling of surplus university property. Assist in the maintenance of the surplus warehouse the surplus yard and in other duties assigned by storekeepers and/or management. Requires the frequent loading and unloading of trucks. The disassembly of electronics and other equipment may be required. Driving of trucks and a pickup truck will be required. Trucks do not require a Commercial Drivers License. This job description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student. The ability to move or manipulate heavy objects; the ability to read and write in English; demonstrated human relation skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. A knowledge of inventory control procedures would be helpful. A valid Utah Drivers license with proof of insurability may be required for persons in positions that require delivery. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
