Job Description

Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEND Pathway Shine Learning & Training Centre LTD

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who has a passion for helping to support the classroom teacher and being involved with childrens academic education. If you are wanting to start a career within the education sector please apply now!

Key Details

Salary:7.55 per hour increases to National Minimum Wage after 12 months

Working hours:Monday to Friday 08:30AM 15:30PM (term time only) 34.5 hours per week

Location: 2426 Cauldwell Street Bedford Bedfordshire MK42 9AD

Apprenticeship Details 16 months expected duration to complete working towards your Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

Training Provider:LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)


You will contribute to the pupils development including their physical and mental wellbeing in supporting the teaching and learning in the classroom providing general and specific assistance to pupils under the direction and guidance of the Class teacher.

The duties and responsibilities to develop a knowledge of a range of learning support needs.


  • Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • To establish a constructive relationship with the students and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • To set challenging and demanding expectations and promote selfesteem and independence.
  • To provide the necessary pastoral care to enable students to feel secure and happy.
  • To provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the 2 teachers.
  • Assist with the class teacher (and other professionals as appropriate) in the development and planning of a suitable programme of support for students.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback about the children to the teacher.
  • Promote good behaviour dealing promptly with conflicts and incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
  • Undertake routine marking of students work.
  • Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks to support teaching
  • Considering the learning support involved to aid the students to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/her own.

For example:

  • Clarifying and explaining instructions.
  • Ensuring the student can use equipment and materials provided.
  • Helping students to concentrate on and finish work set.
  • Meeting needs as required whilst encouraging independence.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans.
  • Developing appropriate resources to support the students.


Essential skills:

  • GCSE Grade A*C or 49 in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent qualification or skill level.
