Job Description
THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Civil Engineer (Transportation). This role involves providing expert technical guidance and assistance for various traffic unit and pavement initiatives which may vary in complexity from simple to highly detailed projects. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles and methodologies to make wellinformed decisions and demonstrate sound judgment in the of their responsibilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will be responsible for delivering civil engineering design conducting analyses and facilitating coordination within the District Traffic Operations Unit with a focus on incident management signage and pavement markings Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and the review of departmental projects. Your efforts will ensure that all work is executed efficiently and effectively adhering to the criteria standards regulations and policies set forth by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Additionally you will assist the Design Unit in project delivery evaluate projects for compliance with traffic engineering regulations and standards and manage the AllWeather Pavement Markings (AWPM) database.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime upon successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an EngineerinTraining certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an engineerintraining certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists and an associates degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and a bachelors degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirement:- This position requires possession of a valid drivers license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waivedfor this title.
