The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society is seeking an Associate Executive Director as part of our succession plan starting between July 1st 2025 and September 1st 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with the current Executive Director to provide leadership management and strategic direction over the next year and a half with the goal of transitioning into the fulltime Executive Director role by April 1 2027. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in nonprofit leadership specifically within the supportive housing sector and have a proven track record of working with boards governance and community advocacy.
We are looking for an individual with at least three years of experience in a leadership or senior management position preferably within a nonprofit or communitybased organization. The candidate should have solid financial literacy experience in fundraising program development policy implementation and human resource management. Strong communication advocacy and relationshipbuilding skills are essential along with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures traditions and the challenges faced by urban Indigenous communities. Preference will be given to individuals who selfidentify as Indigenous (First Nations Inuit and/or Mtis). This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society and make a lasting impact on First Nations Inuit and Metis peoples experiencing homelessness VancouverIsland Wide. The position is based out of Victoria on Lekwungen territory but will include travel islandwide.
