Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the food service operation including hiring and management of both food servicer civilian and inmate workers.
  • Ensuring security within the cafeteria and maintaining compliance with SCDC policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for all paperwork required by SCDC and contracts for retention requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment to ensure compliance and availability to prepare meals.
  • Regular communication with food service branch management and institutional management is essential.
  • Report any concerns.
  • Enforces SCDC policy rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining budget while ensuring operational compliance that includes managing scheduling placing weekly food orders and overseeing purchasing and inventory.
  • Conduct inspections of outside feeding areas to include RHU and other housing units.
  • Any duties as requested that may fall within job purpose.
Must successfully complete four 4 week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Three 3 years experience in a correctional environment preferred.
