SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the general supervision of the Student Nutrition Director provides meals to students. Duties include food preparation line assembly service cashiering catering and sanitation of work area. Provides lead direction to employees in school kitchens. Supervises the preparation assembly service and meal accountability for the school. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all food service related tasks including ordering POS maintenance communication with school personnel daily reports and inventory. This position is itinerant and will be assigned Food Service Management on a daily basis. Shift times vary by location.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide lead direction to employees at various work locations or catering events.
Supervises kitchen staff in the preparation of food products line assembly service cleaning and sanitation in the absence of school lead.
Determines the quantities of food products to be ordered and prepares food to meet sufficient needs of students.
Prepares or ensures preparation of daily cash reports and revenue received deposits and related administrative duties.
Operates the cash register during meal periods
Assist with storage of food received from the central commissary and from vendors.
Assembles serves and replenishes food stations and maintains cleanliness sanitation and health standards of facility and equipment. Supervises and aids in cleaning proper use and storage of kitchen equipment.
Promote an efficient and effective team atmosphere.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of successful work experience preparing and serving meals or food products.
Two (2) years of successful supervisory work experience.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to supervise food service program staff and other related tasks.
Ability to accurately and swiftly calculate the cost of multiple food items and make change.
Ability to understand and use the cashiering system.
Ability to accurately report sales and related data.
Ability to accurately follow verbal and written directions and work in a fast pace environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with students administrators and other school staff.
Knowledge of and the ability to operate institutional kitchen equipment and POS accountability system.
Ability to push and lift approximately 40 pounds.
Ability to maintain punctual attendance and work varied hours.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with students food service staff building staff parents and volunteers in a diverse environment at various locations and catering events.


Certification and Licenses
Tacoma-Pierce County Food Service Handlers Card
Successful completion of fingerprint and background check.


DESIRABLE QUALIFCATIONS
Three (3) years of successful supervisory experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed both in a food kitchen lunchroom facilities and catering locations. Exposure to extreme heat and cold moderate noise levels cleaning chemicals and sharp blades and industrial food service equipment. Ability to left 40 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds; standing for extended periods of time walk stoop bend crouch and carry items requiring a moderate amount of physical effort are all required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
