Job Description

The Sr. Engineer Data Security is responsible for implementing and maturing the Electronic Records Information Management and Retention program technical tools systems and practices. This role is part of the Information Security team based in Las Vegas NV reporting to the Manager of Data Security supporting compliance with all records management practices and disposal requirements on behalf of the legal and privacy team. This role is key to supporting Wynns efforts to ensure sensitive data is stored securely and properly deleted when necessary. 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with team members data owners business units and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and determine system capabilities 
  • Implement and enforce retention policies to manage the lifecycle of data in the catalog including archiving and purging at source retaining consistency and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations 
  • Establish procedures for gathering evidence related to data access modifications and deletions. This may include audit logs and tracking mechanisms 
  • Automate processes required by Information Management team for Information Lifecycle Information Governance and Security 
  • Automate processes to classify data to meet regulatory and jurisdictional requirements 
  • Assess business requirements and participate in the selection of an Information Management (IM) platform to include Data Catalog Classification Lifecyle Management 
  • Support the selected enterprise IM Platform 
  • Implement and configure security measures including access controls 
  • Create and customize taxonomies and classifications based on industry standards or organizationalspecific criteria 
  • Establish a process for categorizing and filtering data and the assignment of retention periods 
  • Perform secure integrations of the IM Platform with source systems 
  • Network file shares database servers email servers backup systems cloud storage technologies infrastructure platforms and products  
  • Design and develop workflows to review and gain approval for lifecycle changes and disposition of electronic records in accordance with the Information Management Policy 
  • Support tooldriven data classification that meet business requirements 
  • Generate reports and conduct audits to ensure compliance track usage patterns and provide insights into the effectiveness of the IM platform 
  • Set up monitoring tools to track system performance metadata changes and user activities. Configure alerts for potential issues 
  • Perform analysis on enterprise data platforms and sources making and executing against recommendations to harden our data security posture 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including system architecture configurations and procedures for troubleshooting 
  • Conduct user training sessions  

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Information Systems or similar quantitative disciplines with a minimum of five 5 years of experience in an engineering role 
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases 
  • Expertise in file shares cloud architecture and API development and integration 
  • Working experience building and optimizing architecture systems and datasets 
  • Experience with hardening security on data stores (IAM DLP) 
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis 
  • Must have strong analytic skills with attention to detail 
  • Experience in Data Management policies procedures standards operating procedures 
  • Ability to establish strong partnerships to collaborate with crossfunctional teams in a dynamic environment 

Must be experience: 

  • Experience with databases and dataset manipulation (SQL*Server Oracle) & OS DDL & SQL  
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages: Python Java etc. 
  • Experience with Data Modelling 
  • Desired experience with Data Governance Data Management policies procedures standards and methodology
