Job Description

A leading civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Transportation Structural Project Engineer to oversee the design and management of transportation structure projects focusing on new and rehabilitation bridge projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining project budgets schedules and quality standards as well as mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with sub-consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of new and rehabilitated bridge projects.

  • Maintain project scope budgets and schedules.

  • Prepare contract bid documents and manage construction phase services.

  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and lead design engineers/drafting personnel.

  • Serve as a technical advisor and client liaison.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • 10-15 years of experience in horizontal (bridge) structural design.

  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design.

  • Experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation.

  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles for steel reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete.

  • Project management and business development experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 3 years leading design engineers and drafting personnel.
