Job Description
TITLE: Release Manager
REPORTING TO: Head of Department
WORKING LOCATION: Bangalore
Job Description:
- Perform release program activities and functions as an expert in Release and Deployment Management following the established processes and policies.
- Act as a major liaison between Business stakeholders Development team Test team Infrastructure teams and the other domainspecific resources for assimilating the information and to manage the schedules communication and customer expectations in an appropriate manner.
- Responsible or/and accountable for Release schedule preparation of Package & target environments SOP & deployment instruction(s) smoke testing rollback (if needed) and communication.
- Provide early life support to the customers for a limited time period after rolling out to production in order to ensure smooth transition to the Operations teams for production support.
- Act as the gatekeeper to the release and deployment process ensuring consistency in policies and operational procedures release testing and production environment validation.
- Coordinate release and deployment activities to ensure that releases are delivered on time as per the agreed schedule.
- Anticipate potential issues and proactively take actions to mitigate or even avoid impact on the deployment timelines and quality.
- Ensure that all the release and deployment related documents are maintained and kept up to date.
- Work closely with other Release and Deployment Managers and act as a backup when necessary.
- Provide expertise input for continuous process improvement.
- Produce reporting to the management about the Release and Deployment activities and KPIs
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of professional industry experience and at least 4 years past working experience as a Release and Deployment Manager.
- Strong understanding of the release and deployment management in software industry.
- Strong understanding of webbased technology and IT Infrastructure
- Knowledge of SQL / data query language is a must
- Knowledge of scripting like Powershell / Javascript is a must
- Excellent knowledge and experience of CI/CD using Octopus / Jenkins / AzureDevOps and Chef is a must
- Knowledge of Cloud (MS Azure) will be preferable
- Agile certifications and/or ITIL V4 Foundation certification is a must.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and stakeholder management
- Excellent interpersonal organizational communication (written & verbal) and management skills..

- BE Computer Science/MCA or any other Bachelors degree with the right experience.
