Summary Statement
The seasonal Historical Park Interpreter is responsible for assisting with program development and conducting interpretive programs that will increase the publics awareness of the historical significance of their surrounding environment and foster the appreciation enjoyment and utilization of Fort Delaware State Park. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends evenings and holidays as scheduled.
Essential Functions

Interpret the history of Fort Delaware State Park and/or the Port Penn Interpretive Center on a daily basis to the visiting public.
Lead school and public historical programs tied to State standards to increase awareness and understanding of Delawares cultural resources.
Develop and maintain exhibits educational and historical site material.
Provide general customer service and park information to visitors.
Plan organize and conduct interpretive walks programs and tours.
Perform custodial services in historic sites and offices.
Setup monitor and provide support for park programs and special events.
Willing and able to work in period costume.
Must demonstrate responsibility dependability and good communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

months experience working with children and young adults such as environmental educator/classroom assistant academic/athletic tutoring camp counselor or youth volunteer.

of a valid Drivers License (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
