Job Status: Fulltime 40 hrs./wk.; 10month position
FLSA Status: NonExempt
Reports To: Director of Counseling Services
Amount of Travel Required: Minimal travel required
Work Schedule: 8:00am5:00pm Mon. Fri.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide counseling services to students and groups of students within the Benedictine College Counseling Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Administer counseling services in accord with Catholic moral principles Benedictine College principles and policies licensing and professional standards and ethics and governmental regulations including HIPAA FERPA and Title IX.
- Identify and manage risks associated with counseling services for students.
- Provide mental health counseling assessment diagnosis treatment referral and consultations for students including in crisis/emergency situations.
- Coordinate and/or collaborate with others on offering regular programs of student and staff education and training on wellness topics including mental health alcohol and other drug prevention and other topics of interest.
- Develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with Residence Life Student Success Center Nursing Athletics local health providers and resources other college departments and the college administration.

- Understanding and acceptance of Catholic and Benedictine values
- Clinical counselor or social work skills
- Strong experience in crisis intervention and riskassessments.
- Ability to create and conduct presentations for staff and students
- Ability to provide consultation to faculty staff and others on matters relating to student problems
- Ability to manage crisis and conflict situations.
- Excellent oral written and interpersonal skills as well as proven administrative and organizational skills
- Computer skills including word processing email and database software
Education
Masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology social work or related field with current licensur
Experience
Minimum of two years of counseling experience preferably in a college setting
