Nikkiso ACDis an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as 420 degrees Fahrenheit the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. This position is based at Nikkiso ACD located in Santa Ana CA.

Job Overview

Position Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials are received accurately and routed to the appropriate departments. This position involves verifying that materials match orders inspecting for defects or damages and maintaining the organization of the workspace. You will play a key role in maintaining quality and ensuring that our operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Lead daily receiving and inprocess inspections activities
  • Follow priority inspection list requested by production and assign to inspectors to address it in a timely manner
  • Arrange and guide to inspect to complete first article requests from purchasing for either new product or existing product from new supplier or process
  • Maintain the QA incoming and first article database.
  • Monitor daily receiving inspection records and inspection data as required and assists in gathering analyzing and trending of data.
  • Manage daily cycle count verification request from warehouse manager
  • Monitor and assure that all measuring tools and equipment are calibrated
  • Monitor inspections processes and suggest any improvement new inspection methods or any need for new tooling for expediting inspection processes
  • Review daily inspectors inspection records and provide daily updates to Quality Manager
  • Mentor train and help other inspectors with how to do proper inspection
  • Ensure all products are properly packaged labeled and lot controlled as required.
  • Verify products against purchase orders or packing slips for accuracy.
  • Performs visual dimensional and functional inspection and testing according to documented policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ISO standards of the products and ensure that there is proper handling of inspection tools.
  • Operates all associated test and measurement equipment as instructed and as documented in procedures.
  • Develop and maintain company inspection reports through the manufacturing process.
  • Receive inventory records process of receiving inspection documents and all other applicable documentation in coordination with the QA department.
  • Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
  • Manage nonconforming components ensuring relevant departments are informed and assisting in final resolution.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • May prepare and submit change requests.
  • Prepare and documents nonconformances in NonConforming Material Review system.
  • Other Duties: Performs work of a miscellaneous nature as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to speak and read English effectively.
  • Ability to manage and mentor QA team effectively.
  • Clear and effective communication with teams management and external auditors.
  • Basic understanding of metrology and arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with QA tools software and equipment used in testing and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve quality issues to make informed decisions under pressure to maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Inspection or quality technician/specialist in machine shop foundry or sheet metal shop.
  • Experience in use of precision tooling/measuring devices. (Calipers micrometers welding gases torque wrench scale measuring tape jigs multimeter etc.
  • Highlevel of visual awareness and attention to detail.
  • Advanced organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
  • Microsoft Office 360 (Word Excel Outlook)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted; heavier loads require assistance or a lifting device.
  • Ability to remain on feet for prolonged periods and move around the facility without limitations.
  • Ability to sit and work at a station for extended periods without limitations.
  • Capable of completing tasks that involve repetitive use of hands and other body parts.

Safety Expectations

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Actively participate in safety improvement activities.

In order to perform the duties of this job the employee may be required to stand walk sit reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop or kneel talk and hear and use fingers and hands to feel objects tools or controls. Perform other duties as listed below.

  • May be required to lift up to 45 lbs. or team lift.
  • May be required to use a pallet jack forklift lift/jib crane and/or any other material handling equipment.
  • Duties will generally be performed indoors and onsite but may require activities to be performed outdoor or offsite.

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees including Safety Awareness.
  • All safetyrelated training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director.
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by the employees Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Understanding and ability to safely work in a potentially explosive environment.

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes safety glasses face shields FR clothing cryogenic gloves cryogenic apron cut resistant gloves safety gloves hearing protection hard hats and dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

Salary Range: $31/hour $41/hour
