YOUR NEW ROLE
The Sydney Opera House plays an important role in shaping our nation life and culture and inspiring positive social change.
This managerlevel position is responsible for projects and activities that enhance SOHs environmental sustainability building on its existing achievements and leadership to drive climate action in line with organisational strategy by:
- inspiring educating and empowering the organisation to achieve leading practice in environmental sustainability;
- connecting and enabling crossorganisational projects programs partnerships systems and processes;
- building capability environmental awareness and action within our workforce;
- ensuring compliance with relevant carbon climate and environmental legislation regulations and standards; and
- championing environmental sustainability within the organisation and more broadly across the community.
The role sits within a newly established social and environmental impact function that is responsible for leading SOHs efforts to bring about positive change aligned with the United Nations Global Goals.

ARE YOU THE ONE
Key responsibilities/skills:
- 5 years of demonstrated experience and tertiary qualifications preferred.
- Demonstrated project management skills including planning budgeting cost/benefit analysis procurement and coordinating crossfunctional project teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with environmental sustainability issues within complex buildings covering energy carbon water materials and waste.
- Experience in business case development tracking and reporting on financial/environmental performance. Funding application experience is desirable.
- Understanding of environmental issues relating to the performing arts and ability to implement crossorganisational sustainability initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with experience in staff engagement strategies.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and risk management and ability to interpret government policies and regulations with respect to SOH Environmental policy procedure and compliance.
