Mainframe Developer Legacy Systems Code Quality Analyst

About the role:

The Legacy Systems Analyst will be responsible for performing code reviews on legacy systems developed in Pascal and COBOL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform code reviews on legacy systems developed in Pascal and COBOL.
  • Identify and document bugs and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide recommendations for remediation and refactoring.
  • Collaborate with team leads and developers to align with development standards.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements in development practices and coding guidelines.

Required Experience:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience in Pascal and COBOL programming ideally on OpenVMS.
  • Proven background in code quality reviews and legacy codebase analysis.

Desired Attributes and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills in bug detection and defect classification.
  • Familiarity with source control and code versioning systems.
  • Ability to write clear actionable review feedback and technical documentation.
  • Experience in financial services

Whats on offer

This contract is available for an initial 6 months and candidates should be available to start in midMay.
