Job Description:
About the role
The role is responsible for the Canadian tax financial reporting and analysis for certain Canadian companies including tax provisioning
What youll be doing
Responsible for Canadian tax financial reporting and analysis for certain Canadian companies partnerships and other passthrough entities including foreign affiliate reporting and ACB/surplus tracking
Responsible for the accurate and timely determination of quarterly Canadian income tax provisions under IFRS
Assisting with oversight of outsourcing and secondment arrangements
Assist with government income tax audits and preparation of formal responses to audit queries
Tax research and interpretation of the impact of specific issues and/or transactions
Provide consultation and tax advice to business unit management/corporate functions
Assisting with Global Tax Advisory projects implementation
Assisting with adjusted cost base/surplus calculations and foreign affiliate reporting if required
What youll need to succeed
67 years experience in Canadian tax financial reporting for corporate and noncorporate legal entities (such as partnership and trusts)
Asset management industry experience is a strong asset
Excellent tax accounting skills: tax provision experience including accounting for deferred taxes
CPA accounting designation or completion of the CICA/CPA Canada Indepth Tax Course or Master of Taxation program.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills are critical
Understanding investment management business is an asset
Familiarity with foreign affiliate reporting is an asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills able to communicate technical information

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
