Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities


Under the supervision of the Dean of Manufacturing Construction & Transportation this person develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses business community other sites evening and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings department and college functions course and curriculum development in both traditional and nontraditional formats.


Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirements:


Required Occupational Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of seven 7 years of fulltime or equivalent 14000 hours) occupational experience in the electricity trade as an apprentice or journey level electrician in construction and/or industrial maintenance or a combination of both. Up to two 2 years of occupational experience in commercial or industrial electrical system design can be counted toward occupational experience.

In addition to the above at least ONEof the following must be met:
  • Three 3 years of occupational work experience must have occurred within the last five 5 years; OR
  • Two 2 years of teaching Electricity course work at the postsecondary level within the last five years
One 1 year of teaching experience equivalent two 2 semesters fulltime of four 4 semesters parttime

Required Industry or vendor certification:
  • Apprenticeship certificate from Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards or equivalent.

Required Licensure:
  • Must have a current license as a Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician from the State of Wisconsin.

Must embrace and demonstrate Standards of Teaching Excellence and the MATC Career Essentials in development and delivery of instruction.

Essential Technology:
Email Experience with an Email system (Gmail Outlook)
Telephone Experience with a voice mail system
Computer Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google

Essential Supportive Technology:
Experience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies:
  • Online Information Management Systems Experience with SelfService or other online information management systems used for student advising student programs grading class schedules and rosters
  • Blackboard Ultra Experience with Blackboard Ultra or other webbased course management systems
  • Technologybased Instruction Experience with technologybased instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium interactive touch screen monitors LCD projectors DVD players and/or other classroom technology
  • Emerging Technologies Experience with social networkingapplications

Supplemental Information

Start Date:
This position supports the Manufacturing Construction and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the Fall semester.

Hours:
This position is up to a 1.0 FTE and the number of hours and shift worked per week and each semester will vary based on course load anddepartmental need.This is aninpersonteaching opportunity and could be at multiple campus locations.

Salary:
Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2024/2025 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
