Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist I supports daytoday purchasing activities to ensure timely and costeffective acquisition of materials supplies and services necessary for manufacturing operations. This role works closely with internal departments and external suppliers to maintain accurate order processing resolve delivery issues and uphold vendor performance. The ideal candidate is organized detailoriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions and issue accurate and timely purchase orders.
- Monitor open orders and follow up with vendors to ensure ontime delivery.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and production schedules.
- Resolve order discrepancies including pricing quantity and delivery issues.
- Maintain vendor records pricing and lead times in the ERP system.
- Support costsaving initiatives through supplier comparisons and sourcing alternatives.
- Track supplier performance and assist in regular supplier evaluations.
- Collaborate with Inventory and Production teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to problemsolving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook)
- Experience with ERP systems preferred.
Required Experience:
- 13 years of procurement or purchasing experience ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience working with suppliers and resolving basic delivery or quality issues.
- Familiarity with purchasing raw materials components or MRO items is a plus.
Level of Education:
- BS in Business Supply Chain or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
