What does a Land Surveyor do

AckermanEstvold Engineering and Consulting is thrilled to invite a detailoriented and experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing Boise team. In this vital role you will leverage your technical expertise in land surveying to conduct precise measurements using advanced equipment such as GPS and total stations. Your skills in interpreting legal descriptions deeds and maps will help establish accurate property boundaries and provide essential insights into elevations and features.

Youll prepare topographic maps that illustrate land contours while offering key construction stakeout services that facilitate infrastructure development across Idaho. Collaborating closely with engineers architects and clients youll ensure the timely and accurate delivery of survey data. This position also allows you to mentor junior surveyors and technicians ultimately enhancing their skill sets and the quality of our projects.

Requirements for this Land Surveyor job

To excel as a Professional Land Surveyor at AckermanEstvold youll need a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License in Idaho or the ability to obtain one coupled with 8 years of experience in land surveying particularly in boundary and topographic surveys. A valid drivers license is essential for operating motorized vehicles on job sites. Success in this role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills providing clarity in interactions with clients and team members. Strong time management and organizational skills are critical for meeting project deadlines and maintaining efficiency. Youll need to demonstrate technical expertise in using surveying instruments like GPS total stations and data collectors along with proficiency in CAD and other relevant software.

Your ability to work collaboratively in teams and showcase outstanding listening skills will be vital in fostering effective communication and delivering quality results on innovative projects in Boise ID and beyond.
