Job Description

Qualifications

  • University Degree or Technical Diploma from accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education.
  • 37 years of practical experience including field work.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team setting.
  • Class 5 drivers license.
  • Relevant experience in Alberta and Alberta regulations is an asset.
  • Experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work challenging and potentially extended hours under varying weather conditions.
  • Working toward professional registration or certification or recently certified.

Intermediate Environmental Technologist

Edmonton Alberta

The Liability Management & Restoration (LM&R) service line is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Technologist.

This position will be based in the Edmonton Alberta and contribute to thecontinued growth and success of the LM&R service line. The successful candidate will support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project including coordination environmental monitoring water and soil sampling of remediation and decommissioning sites.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Perform 60various types of fieldwork including but not limited to surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling soil sampling drilling test pitting remedial excavations and reclamation.
  • Lead field programs andall aspects of project . Perform tasks as requested efficiently and accurately using standard methods andtechniques.
  • Preparation of workplans and cost estimates.
  • Leadenvironmental investigationsincludingdrillingtest pittinglogging samplingand monitoring well installations.
  • Lead remediation programs including planning subcontractor management and .
  • Lead groundwater and surface water monitoring.
  • Onsite safety supervision and associated documentation.
  • Tracking and reporting on field activity.
  • Coordinating the procurement of project supplies and contractor services.
  • Supervision of contractors on site.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.
