What is the Opportunity
Were looking for an Intermediate Product Designer to join the RBC Insurance Digital Design team. In this role youll help shape the future of digital insurance experiencesenhancing existing products and designing new ones from the ground up. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams including product technology strategy and marketing contributing to work that blends creativity with real impact.
Were looking for someone who is curious thoughtful and comfortable working through complexity. You take initiative enjoy collaborating and care deeply about creating meaningful user-focused solutions. This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong foundation in human-centred design visual polish and interaction designespecially in content-rich system-heavy domains like insurance.
What Will You Do
- Partner with delivery squads to design seamless end-to-end experiences across multiple digital channels
- Apply systems thinking to evolve and maintain the RBC design system ensuring scalable consistent design across products
- Contribute to all phases of the product lifecyclefrom research and problem framing to ideation and execution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to bring clarity and alignment to design solutions using both informal and structured design methods
- Incorporate insights from qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions
- Participate in agile ceremonies and support QA efforts to ensure design quality throughout implementation
What Do You Need to Succeed
Must-Have:
- 2-5 years of experience in product design or a related field
- A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to solve complex problems through thoughtful design
- Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience working in agile product teams
- Strong interaction design and visual design skills including understanding of typography layout colour and hierarchy
- Experience designing user flows interaction models and information architecture
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
- Degree in a design-related field or equivalent professional experience
Nice to Have:
- (Nice to have) Experience in insurance banking or fintech
