To provide leadership in the development implementation coordination of curriculum and related school programs: and to assist in discipline attendance supervision of staff and student activities toward the goal of high achievement for all AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises building personnel in conjunction with the PrincipalServes as Acting Principal during the absence of the PrincipalAssists the Principal with the improvement of the instructional program and inherent supervisory dutiesWorks in conjunction with SAU administrators and provides building level leadership with regard to district special education with curriculum developmentAssists in the preparation of pupil schedules and assignmentsSupervises routine noninstructional activities of pupils and teachersAssumes primary responsibility for student attendance and discipline. Serves as liaison officer between staff and Principal on matters of disciplineEstablishes and maintains contact with area agencies regarding student welfareSupervises/monitors lunch and bus proceduresAssists Principal and school volunteer programAssists Principal with public relations activitiesAssists substitute and student teachersMakes recommendations regarding care and maintenance of buildings and groundsAssists with cocurricular and extracurricular activityManages staff security measures (keys swipe cards parking)Assist the principal in effectively managing all emergency situations (i.e. fires threat intruder) and oversees safety protocols (schedule fire/lockdown drills)Assists in selection of personnelConducts observations and together with the Principal completes evaluations on teachers and support staffAssists Principal as required in the scheduling of specialists and the assignment of personnelPlans and supervises the orientation program for new faculty and staffServes on districtwide committees as requestedAcquire a knowledge of all database and information systems and achieve a level of proficiency that will allow you to support faculty and staffUpdates student handbookOversees standardized testingKeeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings reading professional journals and other publications and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the fieldCertification must be maintainedPerforms all other job related assignments directed by the principalADA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED:Frequently standing particularly for sustained periods of walking moving about on foot to accomplish tasks particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to lifting raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from positiontoposition. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or hearing and perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
