Job Description

Position Title:

Park Event Laborers (Epic Sports)

Applications will be considered in the order they are submitted.

These are laborer positions needed seasonally by the Sports Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department to assist with events at the new Epic Sports Park.

What is the compensation

Pay Rate: $15.00 $18.00 per hour (depending upon skill level and experience). Payment will be direct deposit.

What will I do

  • Deliver excellent customer service to guests teams and coaches throughout sporting events.

  • Open and close athletic fields for games tournaments and practices.

  • Set up and take down equipment (goals flags signage benches etc..

  • Keep the fields and surrounding areas cleanthis includes restrooms spectator areas and walkways.

  • Help manage flow of players and spectators provide directions and answer questions.

  • Follow supervisor instructions and work as a team to ensure smooth event operations.

What do I need to apply

  • Friendly helpful attitude and a focus on great customer service.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends consistentlymost shifts will fall during these times.

  • Reliability flexibility and comfort working in a fastpaced outdoor environment.

  • Previous experience in customer service sports or event work is a plus but not required.

  • A valid driver license is preferred for certain positions.

What is the schedule

This is a seasonal position running approximately March 1 through November 1 2025. Most shifts will be evenings and weekends with additional hours available during large tournaments or special events. Staff must be available for weekend work and flexible around event schedules.

What are the physical/environmental factors This work requires strenuous physical labor; walking or standing for long periods; bending; reaching; lifting (up to 50 lbs.; and exposure to adverse weather conditions and some chemicals. Applicants must have sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the work and be comfortable outdoors.

What is the selection process

This is an open file posting. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Nondisclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six 6 months.
