Element has an opportunity for a Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Manager who will support the Huntington Beach testing facility. The successful candidate will ensure Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) regulatory compliance policy implementation risk mitigation and drive the One Element Safety culture.
Salary: $100000 $130000/year (Depending on Experience)
Championing our One Element Safety culture by promoting a Zero Harm mindset across the site and aligning efforts with the companys Mission Vision and Values.
Driving the implementation and continuous improvement of SHE policies procedures and programs to ensure full compliance and high standards across operations.
Collaborating closely with frontline teams and department leaders to embed safety into daily routines through active engagement open feedback and solutionoriented action planning.
Providing expert guidance on SHE best practices and supporting the adoption of Element Safety Standards among all employees.
Participating in risk assessments and delivering forwardthinking practical solutions to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
Leveraging data and safety metrics to identify trends close gaps and enhance workplace safety through actionable insights.
Monitoring and reporting SHE KPIs to track performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Leading or supporting incident and accident investigations ensuring root causes are identified corrective actions are implemented promptly and learnings are shared.
Supporting workers compensation case management and followup in coordination with HR and leadership.
Delivering impactful SHE onboarding and training sessions for new hires to ensure understanding engagement and retention of key safety practices.
Overseeing safety protocols for subcontractors to ensure compliance with company standards.
Supporting laboratory security procedures and ensuring safety controls are in place and maintained.
Bachelors degree (or working toward one) in Safety Management Engineering Occupational Safety or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
35 years of experience in a SHE leadership or coordination role ideally within a manufacturing laboratory or industrial environment.
Solid knowledge of federal state and local safety health and environmental regulations with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear compelling messages to all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to build trust engage teams and foster a collaborative safety culture rooted in respect and accountability.
Skilled at interpreting and applying technical documentation such as safety protocols maintenance procedures regulatory standards and customer testing requirements.
Comfortable delivering safety training presentations and orientations to diverse employee groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint); ability to create reports track metrics and prepare presentations.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Analytical thinker with the ability to problemsolve in situations with limited structure or precedent.
This role operates in a hybrid environment encompassing office laboratory and production floor settings.
Regular presence on the production floor and in lab areas is expected to support safety engagement audits and coaching with employees at all levels.
The work may involve occasional exposure to noise moving mechanical parts chemicals and airborne particles mitigated through strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
The role requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses steeltoe shoes hearing protection gloves and respiratory protection where applicable.
Must be comfortable walking and standing for prolonged periods climbing stairs and accessing various areas of the facility for inspections and incident investigations.
Occasional travel to other sites or locations may be required for training audits or companywide SHE initiatives.
Flexibility to respond to emergency situations incidents or afterhours needs as required in alignment with safety leadership responsibilities.
