Meeting Street is currently looking for a Parent Educator (Bilingual English/Spanish) to work 40 hours per week.
Duties:
- Conducts personal or telehealth visits using the Parents as Teachers curriculum as a guide.
- Complete all child and family screenings required for the program.
- Meets weekly with supervisor for reflective supervision.
- Able to learn understand and incorporate the three roles of a parent educator: partnering facilitating and reflecting into daily practice with all families from diverse backgrounds with an antiracist and nonjudgmental lens.
- Be able to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths.
- Strong knowledge and commitment to serving families of diverse social and economic backgrounds.
- Strong written oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain and submit in a timely manner all documentation in accordance with the program standards.
- Participates in required trainings.
- Performs data entry as necessary.
- Facilitates and engages families in group activities and other program events.
- Attends Parents as Teachers trainings and other ongoing professional development as appropriate.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Requirements:
Must meet ONE 1 of the following requirements:
- 3 years experience as a parent raising children through ages 05
- 2 years experience as a Parents As Teachers family participant
- 2 years professional experience providing services to infants toddlers and their families
- CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Human Services or related field with 1 year professional experience providing services to infants toddlers and their families
Required:
- Fully bilingual (read write speak translate) in both English and Spanish languages
- Valid Drivers license and ability to provide own transportation to appointments.
- Valid CPR and First Aid Training or willing to obtain upon hire.
