The GEIST organization supports a vast portfolio of buildings within the Amazon network and the build out standards and designs. We are seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager with spirit to help lead a team of software engineers to the next level. In this role you will focus on product roadmap and opportunities to help identify bestinclass solutions to automate and standardize how our engineers operate when launching new buildings for Amazon. This role helps to support both technical and nontechnical teams allowing for holistic exposure to the Amazon business.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working on behalf of teams and customers have a track record of ontime delivery of largescale projects and have the ability to operate independently and autonomously. They will have the opportunity to build scale and shape the direction of this business. This role requires deep technical expertise excellent leadership skills and strong business judgment. You will be responsible for services that will be built and deployed globally delivering an exceptional customer experience provide thought leadership in a fastpaced development environment and partner with product management and senior leaders to ensure the success of this program.

Key job responsibilities
Basic qualifications
5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related technical field.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in software development using Type script ReactJS and Java.
Experience on highly concurrent high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems
Experience in operating troubleshooting and mitigating failures in highlyavailable services.
Experience in using data stores such as MySQL Postgres Dynamo DB.
Experience in building systems using AWS services such as S3 SNS ECS Route 53 Lambda etc.
A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and a track record of shipping software on time
Experience with the SCRUM methodology for agile software development preferred
Experience designing software architectures for scalability reliability and performance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Proficient in AWS stack.

The base pay for this position ranges from $115000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. This is a handson position in which you will own everything from end to end: requirements gathering designs design reviews implementations code reviews incremental feature launches operations mentoring and the driving of continuous improvement. A successful candidate will have a deep technical expertise excellent leadership skills an interest in developing software and a motivation to achieve results in a fastpaced environment. You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements be able to quickly identify solutions to challenges discovered during development and ready to work with some of the latest cloud computing technology.
