Job Description

Job Title: Service Manager Safeguarding Somerset
Location: Somerset (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: 476 per day

About the Role:

Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead their newly created Safeguarding Service.

What will your responsibilities be

In this role you will provide leadership and operational management for the Somersetwide Safeguarding Service. You will ensure efficient and effective service delivery in line with organisational requirements uphold defensible decisionmaking and statutory guidance principles and apply relevant legislation in practice while maintaining professional priorities and ethical practice. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies contribute to the work of the Somerset Safeguarding Adults Board and constructively challenge others by providing direction and guidance. Additionally you will foster a safe open learning culture where learning is embedded into practice and think and act creatively challenging circumstances and environments that marginalise exclude or oppress.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving license
  • Postqualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work

  • Experienced registered professional and manager
  • Ability to apply relevant legislation in practice
  • Strong relationshipbuilding skills with partner agencies
  • Ability to constructively challenge and provide guidance
  • Commitment to creating safe open learning cultures
  • Creative thinking and action in challenging environments
