Job Description

JOB TITLE:

Student Technology Worker

CLASSIFICATION:

Classified

FLSA STATUS:

NonExempt

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

Coordinator of Information Technology

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:

  • Coordinator of Information Technology
  • Assistant Coordinator of Information Technology
  • Technology Specialist
  • Fulltime Computer Technicians

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Assist the Information Systems department to prepare maintain and upgrade the Districts fleet of technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

(Skills Knowledge Abilities Education Certification/Licensure Experience Equipment)

  1. Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
    1. Work closely in cooperation with the Assistant Coordinatorof Information Technologyand all department staff.
    2. Ability to work independently and prioritize without close supervision.
    3. Working knowledge of macOS Windows iOS and ChromeOS devices desired.
    4. Strong organizational skills.
  2. Certification/Licensure:
    1. Valid Iowa drivers license desired but not necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  1. Clean existing District technology.
  2. Remove outdated equipment and prepare it for disposal.
  3. Receive new equipment unpack and prepare it for deployment.
  4. Dispose of packaging materials and keep workspaces clean.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance and inventory on existing hardware.
  6. Run software updates on devices.
  7. Relocate technology hardware to accommodate changing needs and facilities changes.
  8. Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Repetitious walking bending lifting stooping and kneeling.
  • Ability to climb stairs ladders and work overhead periodically.
  • Must be capable of lifting 80 pounds periodically.
  • Ability to work while standing moving and/or walking.
  • Drug tobacco and alcohol free while working.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Majority of work is done in an office or school setting.
  • Extensive district travel required.
  • No weekend or evening hours will be required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Atwill employee.
  • Asneeded Position (typically summer winter and spring breaks)
  • Per board policies and administrative guidelines.
