Job Description

Thompson Engineering is seeking an IT Technician to join our team. Primary responsibilities of this role are supporting daytoday operations end user support and some server management.


Responsibilities:

Install and configure hardware and software components.

End user computer imaging configuration and set up.

Provide help desk support to end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Open and/or close trouble tickets on each call received.

Escalate problems and requests as necessary to ensure positive resolution.

Work closely with members of the IT team to troubleshoot network and systems issues as well as respond to potential cyber threats.

Create modify and/or delete user and email accounts.

Perform routine maintenance on various IT equipment.

Mobile device support tablets smartphones etc.

Cabling installation and termination.

Maintain an increasing level of proficiency in hardware software networking and other technologies supported by the IT department.

Other duties as assigned.

Occasional travel to branch and project offices.

Occasional after hours and weekend work.

Document and follow procedures and user guides.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as needed.

Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment.


Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

1 3 years of experience in similar role.

Understanding of Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy.

Microsoft Cloud technology experience is a plus.

Experience troubleshooting systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
