Job Summary
Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum teaching service scholarship and related administrative activities that support the mission vision and values of the university.
The College of Arts and Humanities at Lindenwood University invites applications for a Visiting Faculty in music with specialization in Vocal/Choral music.
Qualified applicants will possess a terminal degree (PhD DMA or equivalent; ABD candidates will be considered) in music with specialization in vocal performance choral music and / or choral conducting. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses 12 credit hours) each semester within the music curricula including leading choral groups. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship and participate in faculty governance and campus life.
The Visiting Faculty in Music is a fulltime 9month faculty position that will begin August 14 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
The successful applicant will be a missiondriven team player with a vision for growth in both the size and impact of Lindenwoods Music programs and the experience to accomplish that vision. They will also be an accomplished musician and musical educator eager to provide Lindenwood students with an excellent education and learning experience. This position will be responsible for Lindenwoods prestigious vocal groups such as the Concert Choir University Chorus Voices Only a cappella group. It will also be responsible for music education coursework as well as supervision of vocal student placement professional accompanists and piano proficiency.
