As a member of the Career Services Network (CSN) team will serve as an inhouse career specialist for the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS). Provide international students and all students interested in global careers with career advising in a variety of modalities including but not limited to onsite and virtual with a focus on career exploration and planning professional documents graduate/professional school preparation and implementing global job search strategies for internships and employment.
Serve as the primary contact for developing and implementing programs to meet the career development needs of international students. Focus on advancing the career and professional development of international students through strategic collaborations while engaging the resources programming and services of the Career Services Network.

Inefficient processes and ineffective communications could result in the loss of job/academic/career opportunities for students. Inefficient and ineffective services and programs could negatively impact desired outcomes and damage the image of the Career Services Network and Office for International Students and Scholars.
Work Environment
Standard office environment.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a Masters degree and one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the college labor market developing college student success and recruiting trends specific to specialized populations for entrylevel talent; or knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a Bachelors degree and three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the college labor market developing college student success and recruiting trends specific to specialized populations for entrylevel talent; developing career programs and activities; public speaking; writing and editing for mass distribution; working in a team environment; use of internet word processing spreadsheet database and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of career development job search techniques and employer hiring practices at the university level experience working with international university students in a career advising role or other careerrelated setting; information on immigration regulations as related to career development; excellent customer service skills and attitude; willingness and ability to take initiative; desire and ability to build relationships with faculty specialists and staff at MSU broadly; employers and alumni; ability to function as a member of a team with a common goal of departmental success. Strong desire to work with university students on career and professional development.

Monday Friday 85pm Currently one remote day per week. Some evenings and weekends for programming opportunities.
