Job Description

Bookkeeper

Blacksburg Middle School

12 month position

IMMEDIATE OPENING

The Montgomery County School Board Virginia is now accepting applications for a Bookkeeper position that is available at Blacksburg Middle School.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bookkeeping/accounting experience (Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of office terminology procedures and equipment
  • Working knowledge of governmental purchasing processes
  • Working knowledge of modern professional office workflow
  • Ability to perform basic research and prepare reports
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Notary Public
  • Support school office functions as determined by supervisor
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelors degree preferred in Business Administration Communications or related field or equivalent education and/or experience in secretarial with administrative office skills
  • A minimum of five years combined experience with administrative office fields
  • Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and workflow technologies
  • Experience in integrated software systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable

SALARY: $$31200.00 $60373.34 annually with benefits; commensurate with experience
