Job Description
Position Summary:
The Value Stream Manager provides leadership and supervision to production manufacturing engineering and a matrix leadership role for other operations team working for the same value stream to create a world class operations team. Through the direction and supervision of process and support leaders the Value Stream Manager ensures that projects meet quality economical and delivery requirements.
The Value Stream Manager significantly impacts organizational efficiency customer satisfaction and employee engagement by optimizing the flow of value through the facility reduce costs improve quality and accelerate delivery times.
Major Responsibilities:
- Visual Daily Management is responsible to sustain a clear and transparent communication through all levels establishing KPIs to monitor and measure the performance of the value stream.
- Ensure RBS (Regal Rexnord Business System) as a primary and foundational system to define strategy and tactical vision of the operations Implementing continuous improvement methodologies to drive ongoing improvements in Safety Quality Delivery and Cost
- Coordination with crossfunctional teams (including production quality assurance and supply chain) ensures smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
- Develops and maintains an effective organization through selection training development engagement and motivation of assigned personnel. Conducts reviews on a timely basis.
- Understands capacity plans to project manpower requirements of or meeting the production commitment.
- Reviews the manufacturing requirements with Engineering and Master Scheduler and provides input on hours and feasibility of project plans.
- Delegates responsibilities and appropriate authority to subordinate supervisory and staff personnel to achieve maximum efficiency through proper use of skills manhours machines and equipment.
- Recommends and plans manufacturing strategies and use of resources including outsourcing technology upgrades and training.
- Develops policies company safety programs and procedures related to manufacturing and ensures consistent implementation of these policies and procedures. Holds the team accountable to expectations.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA EPA and other federal state and local regulatory agencies.
- Participates in and assists with continuous improvement activities related but not limited to ergonomics Safety 5S and lean manufacturing.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelors degree (B. A. from fouryear college or university or at least five years related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required 57 years.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail record keeping routine database activity word processing spreadsheet graphics etc.
- Leadership in a projectbased manufacturing environment
- Metal fabrication or Machine shop experience
- Continuous Improvement training and aptitude
- Ability to operate effectively in a high mix low volume environment
Travel:Minimal overnight travel (up to 10 by land and/or air.
