Job Description

QUINCY SCHOOL DISTRICT
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST


Supervisor: Director of Special Programs
Salary Range: QEA Salary Schedule
Location / Assignment: Support Services
Conditions of Work: 180 days

SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapist main goal is to implement services and assess motor skills of students in conjunction with the Districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Washington State ESA certification for Occupational Therapist.
Prior experience in educational setting desired.
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with special education staff.
Knowledge of SPED law policies and procedures.
Skill in Data Collection Progress Monitoring and implementation of Motor Services.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information as necessary.
Ability to develop and maintain high standards of performance.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with students parents community and staff.
Ability to work effectively with a range of personnel in the district and schools.
Working knowledge of appropriate motor assessments.
Demonstrates respect and confidentiality.
Serve on staff committees as required.
Perform related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
Must have good human relations and interpersonal skills demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and show initiative when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Programs


QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a Specialized Degree as an Occupational Therapist.
Completed District application forms.
A letter of interest.
Placement file and/or at least 3 letters of recommendation.
A resume
Copy of ESA
Copies of college transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable for application purposes)
Ability to work individually and in a collaborative or team approach.
Ability to communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues orally and in writing.
Ability to work with students in multiaged groups.
Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies as well as district / legal requirements.
Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: Ability to regularly walk sit stoop kneel crouch crawl push and pull.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
