Position Title: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Center Based PK
Location: Early Childhood
Position Details:
The Early Childhood Special Education: Center Based Teacher serves as the casemanager for children with disabilities ages 35 in the inclusive preschool classrooms in LPS. Must demonstrate the ability and skills necessary for successful collaboration and planning with early childhood staff and other early childhood service providers to implement programming and services to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
Responsible for the development and implementation of IEPs and IFSP and other related special education paperwork in the school regular and ongoing communication with other early childhood team members and families regarding students needs and progress. Completes all required ealry childhood special education paperwork and serves as a member of the evaluation team to determine eligiblity for early childhood special education services. This position may require travel so dependable and reliable transportation is required for this position.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Position may require travel to various LPS buildings as part of the assignment for this itinerant position. Drivers license and dependable transportation required. Position may require additional days in the summer in addition to the teacher contract in order to provide required special education services.
Location assignment is done by the Director of Early Childhood.
