Job Description

Description of Work

The position is a Human Services Provider Program Coordinator II located at Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh. It houses approximately 1318 closecustody male offenders and reports directly to the Senior Psychologist position at the facility.


The Human Services Provider Program Coordinator II (HSPPCII) provides coordinates and is accountable for interdisciplinary personcentered services to individuals with intellectual disabilities dementia mental health disorders serious mental illness complex behavioral disorders and/or cooccurring disorders in a specialized multiservice facility. This position will implement and assess behavioral health treatment programming to ensure that the treatment needs of individuals in specialized programs are addressed. The HSPPC2 will provide treatment and progress updates to the responsible behavioral health provider(s) as well as specific and detailed input toward developing/modifying individual treatment plans. In consultation with the behavioral health professional staff the HSPPCII will be responsible for coordinating behavioral health support staff in providing behavioral health and psychoeducational programming based on the needs and treatment goals of individuals in the specialized program(s). The HSPPCII organizes coordinates implements monitors and assesses programming provided by behavioral health support staff and modifies programming as appropriate.


The HSPPCII will ensure compliance with correctionalbased health safety and habilitative services as required by State/federal laws American Correctional Association expected practices and facility policies and procedures. The HSPPCII will work with the behavioral health team to establish implement and monitor program goals quality controls and policies/procedures for defined specialized treatment program(s). This position will work with numerous professional disciplines such as nursing medical psychiatry behavioral health programs and custody to provide and coordinate behavioral health services consistent with the needs of the individuals housed in the program(s). The HSPPCII will attend the multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as needed.


The HSPPCII will supervise behavioral health support staff (e.g. Behavior Specialists administrative staff etc.. The position will manage the operations of behavioral health (e.g. budgetary and resource allocation) in various treatment program areas. The HSPPCII is differentiated from the HSPPC1 by the degree of accountability increased complexity of location assignments independence of action in more comprehensive programming and administrative decisionmaking.

Bachelor s degree in a human services or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience providing professional or direct services (either paid or volunteer) in a setting that serves individuals with disabilities.

They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and wellbeing towards a safe transition from prison improving public health and decreasing recidivism.
