Job Description

Position Overview: The PreSchool Early Childhood Unified Teacher creates a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 3 to 5. The role involves designing and implementing curricula that cater to individual learning needs including those of children with special needs. This teacher will foster positive relationships with students families and colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum development and implementation
  • Instruction and support
  • Assessment and observations
  • Individualized Education Plans
  • Parent and family engagement
  • Creation and maintenance of a safe and stimulating classroom environment
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Professional development
  • Potential extended school year (ESY) assignment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Current Kansas Teaching License with Early Childhood Unified Certificate or willingness to work towards the Unified Endorsement
  • Knowledge of IEP process
  • A positive and supportive demeanor
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Commitment to professional growth

This position qualifies for tuition reimbursement leave KPERS district paid health insurance and short term disability plus other optional insurances at employee expense.
