A Planning Support position typically involves assisting planners with administrative tasks data collection research and report preparation. This role often includes supporting the development and implementation of plans programs and regulations as well as providing information and support to the public.
Qualifications :
- Provide support to the 492 SOW multidomain theater engagement planning programs and processes.
- Provide research analysis and development of Wing level planning implementation of policy and of planning functions to facilitate support to Geographic Combatant Command /Theater Special Operations Command operations.
- Assist and support programmatic activities for the 492 SOW to include the wing transition to DavisMonthan and Power Projection Wing.
- Draft Planning Orders to Wing subordinate units and execute organizational plans and program objectives supporting current and future operations to include classified Operational Plans and Continuity of Operations Plans.
- Develop coordinate and execute Hurricane Evacuation plans for AFSOC and other Joint Exercises as required.
- Conduct cross functional coordination with Wing logistics planners to ensure a smooth deployment process for military equipment and personnel tasked via the Global Force Management Allocation Process in support of Joint Combined Exercise Training Security Cooperation and DoD named operations.
- Program SteadyState and Overseas Contingency Operations Military Personnel Appropriation to utilize reserve personnel to support Wing requirements.
- Prepare documents to execute Special Operation Command (SOCOM) Power Projection Wing requirements to include Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans Memorandums of Agreement and/or understanding and/or other requirements documents.
- Produce and/or present the weekly classified Commanders Update Brief.
- Prepare reports and presentations (Bullet Background papers Point Papers Power Point slide shows) as necessary on SOCOM AFSOC and 492 SOW taskers including but not limited to Theater Engagement activities Information Operations and Force Protection.
- Conduct Wing senior leading program briefings as necessary.
- Manages and or contributes to the directorate SelfAssessment Program.
- Provides updates to the Wing Program Objective Memorandum
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five 5 years of documented experience including:
Special Operations to include participation in overseas missions.
Demonstrated experience with the National Defense Authorizations Act and United States Code Title 10 Armed Services and Title 22 Foreign Relations and Intercourse.
- Current SECRET security clearance

- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to work on Government contracts.
- Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
