Key job responsibilities
We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to help us optimize and grow our infrastructure. Our services operate at scale and support Live events Dynamic ad insertion so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. In this role you will have the opportunity to:
* Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and automation.
* Drive root cause analyses.
* Scale our services: Lead the planning forecasting and technical approaches to operating at peak scale.
* Monitor and report on the health of our services at an executive level.
* Collaborate with and learn from worldclass leaders to meet worldclass challenges every day.
* Work in an environment where operational excellence is truly the first priority and where the degree of automation is above bar.
A day in the life
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering Applied Sciences or equivalent work experience
5 years of relevant handson systems engineering and administrative experience cloudbased administration.
Knowledge and high proficiency in AWS services.
Experience supporting Live events and streaming services (monitoring troubleshooting scaling)
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related technical discipline with a focus on software development
Must be currently enrolled in university with graduation dates starting December 2019 and onward
Familiarity with objectoriented design and coding skills (C/C and/or Java)
Experience in UNIX/Linux or Windows environments
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
