Assistant Professor

The Elizabeth and Thomas Rankin School of Nursing Faculty of Science

NineMonth Limited Term

Position Profile

The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a ninemonth limited term faculty appointment. The start date is August 18 2025 at our beautiful and historic St. Francis Xavier University campus in Antigonish Nova Scotia. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and supervision within the undergraduate program across its three program streams and contributing to scholarship within the Rankin School of Nursing and University.
  • Academic and professional service within the Rankin School of Nursing

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing: medical/surgical mental health perinatal and pediatric leadership and policy.
  • A baccalaureate degree in Nursing and a Masters degree (preferably in Nursing) is required. A PhD in nursing is preferred. Proof of credentials are required before appointment.
  • Current or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Evidence (or evident promise) of excellence in teaching and dedication to students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service and lifelong learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues teams and external partnerships

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience in alignment with the collective agreement.
