Job Summary/Description:
WAVE in Louisville Kentucky is looking for a Weekend News Anchor/Reporter to join our awardwinning team of Journalists.
WAVE the NBC affiliate in Louisville Kentucky has an immediate opening for a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. In addition to anchoring the highlyrated weekend evening newscasts this position also reports three weekdays. We are looking for a dynamic highlevel storyteller who delivers every day. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent news judgment be a selfstarter an excellent and clear communicator and a team player.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop sources within the community and report on timely important and impactful issues.
Produce and deliver dayturns three weekdays as well as special event coverage. Our anchors are expected to write and contribute daily to newscasts.
Write and post daily on all digital platforms as new information is learned. This includes social media our news app OTT and within our television newscasts.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience
Expertlevel adlibbing skills
Excellent shooting writing and editing skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
Selfmotivated and able to work in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment
Strong work ethic organizational and leadership skills. Must be able to work quickly meet deadlines multitask and show composure especially during breaking news.
