The Role
This is an ongoing full-time opportunity to create lifestyle content as part of the ABC News digital team.
As a Digital Reporter in the Lifestyle team you will be responsible for researching writing and producing engaging content in key reporting areas including: family home & garden food relationships wellbeing work and personal finance. This will include fast turnaround stories profiles and addition to creating digital articles this role will support the distribution of content on social media including scripting and presenting vertical videos for Instagram and TikTok.

The Job
- Pitch create and edit digital content for multiple platforms including social media to engage new audiences.
- Contribute to the planning and commissioning processes by regularly pitching article and vertical video ideas to reach and engage Australian audiences.
- Monitor social media comments ZenDesk and shared email inbox to identify key themes and story ideas in audience feedback.
- Train support and at times mentor colleagues as required to build and maintain a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Work independently as part of a remote team.
About You
An accomplished reporter with proven presentation skills and experience in digital content production systems and tools youll also be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to creating lifestyle content that helps people in their everyday lives.
- Advanced reporting skills and editorial judgement in topic areas relevant to the lifestyle space.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as part of a remote team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of developments in digital news media social media and audience trends.
- Experience in a relevant specialist area such as personal finance or health and science reporting.
- Experience in scripting and presenting vertical video.
